Jer Thorp is an artist and educator from Vancouver currently living in New York. A former geneticist, he now explores the many-folded boundaries between science and art in his digital art practice. Recently, his work has been featured by The New York Times, The Guardian, BusinessWeek and the CBC. In his previous life as a Flash developer and designer, Jer produced work for a broad base of clients including Honda, The CBC, FOX, and the LA Kings. Jer is a contributing editor for Wired UK. He is currently Data Artist in Residence at the New York Times, and is a visiting Professor in New York University’s ITP program. His work has been exhibited worldwide.
