Sophie Kahn is a UK-born, Brooklyn-based, Australian new media artist. She studied at Goldsmiths College, University of London. Her work owes its fractured aesthetic to the interaction of new and old media, or the digital and the analog. Her process combines inputs from 3d laser and LIDAR scanning, and outputs ranging from rapid prototyped sculpture, with laser etching, beading, digital printing and animation. She has exhibited in public, commercial and alternative exhibition spaces including the Armory Show in New York, the Smithsonian Institution in Washington DC, and the Japan Media Arts Festival in Tokyo. Sophie is a Visiting Associate Professor in Pratt Institute's Department of Digital Arts.
